European Works Councils were created partly as a response to increased transnational restructuring brought about by the Single European Act.

They give representatives of workers from all European countries in big multinational companies a direct line of communication to top management. They also make sure that workers in different countries are all told the same thing at the same time about transnational policies and plans.

The objective of the Syensqo Global Forum is a two-way dialogue between the Group's top leadership and employee representatives from countries where Syensqo mainly operates. It is an opportunity for the top management to get a direct perception of the social climate and to explain the Group Strategy directly to employee representatives. 

The Syensqo Global Forum is a voluntary body and not regulated by any international or local legislation. It has a global role. The members do not only represent their own site or trade-union, but all Syensqo employees of their country or region.

Labor relations refers to the relationship between employers and employees, and their organization may be very different from one country to another. Countries have different representative bodies whether at national level, at local level or in terms of HSE. The negotiation subjects are also different and are discussed at various levels.

• Site HR Partner drives compliant labor relations;
• The Country HR and Labor relations Manager guides towards country/group standards where applicable;
• The site HR Partners report hierarchically to the Country HR and LR Manager. The link with the Site manager remains very important as it gives the context and reality in which the site HR partner operates.
