Custom menu named Activate / Deactivate notifications will be added on the menu bar with 3 actions : 

  • Authorize to send email. This step is mandatory to allow receive future notifications
  • Activate notifications 
  • Deactivate notifications



Authorize email 


By clicking on authorize email, you allow Google to send you emails


Activate notifications : 

By activating this notification, email notifications will be sent to the task owner and project manager in the following conditions : 

  • When the task is completed, the project manager will received a notification by email
  • When the task is overdue (1 day overdue), the project manager will receive a notification by email
  • When the task is due in 1 week,  a notification will be sent to the task owner
  • When the task is due in 2 days, a second notification will be sent to the task owner





Activate On Edit Trigger

On edit trigger applies only to cases where the task is being completed. It sends a reminder to project manager.

With this Function on Edit trigger will be created and meanwhile if there is any existing trigger it will be   deleted, only one trigger will be created to perform the following tasks

  • If the users changed the Due Date or Task Complete, the Task Complete Notification and Reminder  will send and status will be reset.

  • If the users update the Task Complete column, the Notification check will be performed again.

Deactivate OnEdit Trigger

With this Function onEdit trigger will be deleted, Email  Notification check would not happen on Updating DueDate or Task Completion Status.

Column I has been Protected because it has information on the Mails that is been sent to the manager. Since the request had criteria to send mail to manager on task completing only once, we had to store the data in some place, and yet not to be tampered by the users. 

As a solution for the above issue, we have given permission only for the owners to make changes to column I. We Hidden this column, so that user will not have the knowledge of this column existence.
