What's SWoW ?

The key principle of a SWoW space is Activity Based Working, or simply put: working in a space that corresponds to the nature of the work to be done, guaranteeing greater flexibility.

A well-designed space is not enough: Activity Based Working only becomes a reality by relying on the "4Bs", both the Bricks (nature or configuration of the building), the Bytes (digital environment), the Behaviors (adapted behaviors) and the Branding (environment that reflects our identity).

In practice, there are three types of areas dedicated to Activity Based Working: Collaboration, In between and Focus.

Flex Desk practically speaking...

• The Flexdesk groups together a set of workstations (maximum of 60% of headcounts for administrative activities) in pre-existing “office” areas. They are accessible to the members of the entity : 

• There will no longer be dedicated office / workstation
• Notion of Homebase : a place to anchor your entity in a defined area in order to find your colleagues
• The clean desk policy is an integrated part of the concept. It implies that you leave the workstation as you found it (clean & empty). 

• All meeting rooms and bubbles are available to the community (no longer dedicated to a specific entity).
  
  

Meeting rooms are bookable via Google Calendar. Bubbles are NOT bookable, their use must be done in a responsible way, respecting the common good

The similarities between SWoW and Flex desk :

• No dedicated place

• Clean desk is mandatory
  Resources available outside the working area (meeting center, eat & meet, garden, buffer zone, …)

The main differences between SWoW and Flex desk :

• In Flex desk, workzones are the same, standard positions

• SWOW allows the activity based working principle

• Flex desk workstation can be booked

• Flex desk can be implemented in any surface

• Flex desk can be an intermediate phase in the deployment of a SWOW environment
