DSF - Domain, Segment, Family
The DSF is related to the DSF Segmentation (Click here).
It’s the Organization of the Purchasing Division. The spend assignment rules (Click here) is based on this organization (objects : DSF/Material Group; DSF/Segment; DSF/Domain).
| Domain | Segment | Family | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ex. 1 | General Expenses | Travel | Hotels and Restaurants |
| Ex. 2 | Industrial Supplies | Rotating machine | Compressors |
Family
In RCS, Family = Material group. The material group is input in the material in RCS when creating material or in the P.R (Purchase Requisition) or in the Purchase Order if there is no material code
For Raw Materials, the material code is used instead of a family.
Segment
In RCS : Segment level exists only in SRM ( BIP - Supplier Relationship management program), however the object « Segment Supplier » may contain several segment. To the Spend assignment, it’s better to use « DSF/Segment ».
Segment level is rebuilt in GSV through assignement rules.
Purchasing Organisation
The purchasing organisation is built this way :
Purchasing Organisation = Domain + Zone
Ex : OA 3002 = Packaging Europe zone
But purchasing organization goes further than the DSF. It covers things which are not included in the DSF :
Interco 3200 (World), Consignment 3400 etc, Trading 3100, 3101, 3102, 3103.
