TK'BLUE is an external platform that aims to calculate the GHG emissions of our transports.

Why do we need to measure our carbon emissions?

The emissions evaluation is MANDATORY and part of the CSRD and Solvay Climate policy.

Solvay target is to reduce by 20% the Co2 emission in Scope 3 (- 20% in 9 years 2021-2030).

The internal attempts to calculate the workload emissions were not satisfactory, and we had no certified and validated methodology to measure of these emissions for the inbound/outbound shipments, to ensure compliance with Scope 3 of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol.

Using this certified platform aligns the methodology to calculate Co2 emissions to all GBUs for the scope 3.4 and 3.9 (Upstream /Downstream transportation and distribution).

The certification is key for our external auditors and final customers.

Data to feed TK'Blue is extracted every month from BW TIERS, all GBUs in a single file.

On the 3rd day of the month, data of the previous month is sent to a GCP folder. (eg, data of December 2024 was extracted automatically on January 3rd 2025)

Every month, the business coordinator gets to the GCP Folder, downloads the latest extraction and uploads it to TK'Blue

TK'Blue processes the data and if needed send an error report to the business leader will notify the GBU key users (one per GBU).

GBU Key key users are expected to check and correct the errors , XXXbefore the 20th of the month.

Once data is processed by TK'Blue, indicators will be available in the platform for the GBU key users.

On the 28th of the month, data is pushed by TK'Blue in an SFTP folder, connected to the internal datalake.
