Transport emission is part of scope 3, and can be segregated into 2 main parts: inbound (i.e. procurement of raw materials for plants) and outbound (i.e. delivery of products to our customers). In addition, there are inter-company transport moves where we move semi-finished or finished products between our plants and/o warehouses. Further, it can be split between air, maritime, road and rail each of them having a different carbon footprint calculated in CO2 per tonne-kilometre (gCO2/tkm) The Incoterms are dictating (party contracting the freight) whether the transport emission scope are part of the upstream (supplier), us or the downstream (customer).
