China’s Jilin Petrochemical has shut down its 120,000 tonne/year No 3 and 120,000 tonne/year No 4 acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Jilin province on 8 October for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The shutdown will likely last for half a month, according to the source.

Jilin Chemical Fiber, a major buyer of ACN from Jilin Petrochemical, plans to shut its two acrylic fibre (AF) units, with a combined capacity of 236,000 tonnes/year, for maintenance from 15 to 22 October, the company source said.
