Overview


In this section, you will find information about how to create a new customer contact in Salesforce and how to create a contact from Gmail or Google Contacts to Salesforce.com using the Cirrus Insights application.

Step By Step


Before creating a contact, search it to avoid creating a duplicate! If a duplicate is created, the system will warn you if:

  • the email address is the same than an existing contact
  • the name + first name are similar to an existing contact

If the Contact does not exist, it is recommended to create it from the account page.

Create a contact in Salesforce

If the Contact does not exist, it is recommended to create it from the account page
Hoover on “Contacts” related list and click on New Contact
Enter your contact’s details and Save
•First Name and Last Name
•Account Name: as you started from the account, the field already filled in
•Language
•Phone/Mobile/Email
•Job department and function
•Address: as you started from the account, the address is already filled in

The value "Customer Service" in Job Department => New Winter 17' Release

It’s done! Your contact is created. 

 

You can create a contact and relate it to any account in Salesforce, even if you’re not part of the Account Team

 

Create a contact from Google (Cirrus Insight)

Create a contact from Gmail

Go to Gmail. Hoover on the name of the contact

Check in the Cirrus sidebar that contact does not exist in Salesforce.

 

Click on the Create Contact button

First Name and Last Name are already filled in

Select a salutation from the dropdown.

Enter first few letters of the Account Name and click on the magnifying glass

A small popup with list of Accounts from Salesforce appears. Select one of the Account by clicking on the Account Name

Enter the preferred language of the contact and click on the magnifying glass

Select the language English from the corresponding Pop up

Scroll down the sidebar to fill in any other information he likes to enter.

-Notice that email address is automatically filled in.
-Note that some information like address is prefilled based on the Signature of the email.

Finally, select the appropriate Job Department and Function.

Click on Save button

You have successfully created the contact in Salesforce.

Click on the Salesforce icon. It will take you to the contact page in Salesforce.com

Create a contact from Google Contacts

Navigate to Google Contacts from Gmail. You see the list of your contacts.
Hover on one of the contact and check that the contact doesn’t exist in Salesforce.
Click on “Create Contact” button

First Name and Last Name are already filled in

Select a salutation from the dropdown. 

Enter first few letters of the Account Name and click on the magnifying glass

A small popup with list of Accounts from Salesforce appears. Select one of the Account by clicking on the Account Name

Enter the preferred language of the contact and click on the magnifying glass

Select the language English from the corresponding Pop up

Scroll down the sidebar to fill in any other information he likes to enter.

Finally, select the appropriate Job Department and Function.
