This guide explains how to transport a query from WBD to WBQ and WBP. It works for full queries but also for any queries elements (structures, variables...).
toc numbered="true"/
Pre-requisite : empty the BEX Transport order
Before transporting the query you must first make sure the BEX Transport Order does not contain your query or any of its elements (otherwise it will not let you add it to your order).
The best way to ensure that is to empty it.
Finding the BEX Transport order
1- Go to RSA1
2- Select the "Transport connection" tab on the left.
3- Click on the "BEX" truck icon.
4- Copy the "Standard BEX transport request".
Empty the BEX Transport order
- Go to SE03.
- Select "Unlock Objects (Expert Tool)".
- Enter the BEX Order in the "Request/Task" and execute. This will unlock all objects in the task and allow to delete all quickly.
- Go to SE10.
- Click on the glasses "Display Individually".
- Enter the bex order in the prompt and run.
- Double click on the BEX Transport order code (just below "Modifiable").
- In the Display Request/task page, click on Change button.
- If prompted to change the request owner, select YES (this will change the owner to your user).
- Click on"Select All" .
- Click on "Delete Row".
- Save and close.
Transporting the query
Adding the query to the order
- Go to RSA1.
- Go to the "Transport connectinon" tab on the left.
- In the hierarchy, select and open the "Query elements" and then "Query" (or other if transporting a different object).
- Double click on "Select Objects".
- In the available objects screen, find and select the query and then click on Transfer. This will add the query to the collected objects list.
- Verify that the "Grouping" option is "Only necessary objects" and click on Execute.
- Once you get the list, check the necessary objects (Usually only Query Element)
It is the best pratice to only put the query elements. If you need to transport other elements (conversions, cubes...) please do a separate order.
9. When the objects are all selected, click on the Transport Truck to add all the objects to the OT
10. Then
Here you need to create your own request. Click the "Create Request" icon(beside icon "Own Requests").
Then you only need to input the short description, the Request code will be automatically created when you save. The short description should follow a standard format, for exmpale: UR268235/OC/CoreQueryChange, no blankspace in between.
-
- Then a new Request is generated. You can click "execute" now.
If at this point you get a message saying "Carry out repairs in non-original system only if they are urgent" it means that some of the objects you are adding into your order were created on WBQ or WBP. In that case you will need to use the options to force the order.
Releasing the order to WBQ
- Go to transaction SE10 and display your order : Click on "Display Invidually" (glasses icon) and enter your order number.
- For each of the tasks in your order, select the task, then click on the transport truck.
- When all the tasks have been validated, select the transport order and click on the transport truck : this will add the order in the release queue.
- Once release, a new screen will appear, where by refreshing you will be able to see the status of the transport. Initially :
After successful transport to WBQ it will look like this :
