Idemitsu Kosan has shut a styrene monomer (plant) owing to the advent of a typhoon. A Polymerupdate source in Japan informed that the plant was shut on October 6, 2014 as typhoon Phanfone made a landfall in the area. The plant reportedly suffered some damage owing to the impact of the typhoon. Repairs have been initiated at the plant and it is expected to restart in 2-3 weeks.
