South Korea’s Lotte Chemical plans to shut its 580,000 tonne/year styrene monomer (SM) plant in March 2015 for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
The facility in Daesan is expected to be down for two to three weeks.
“The plant will restart in April,” the source said.
Other SM producers in South Korea include Samsung Total Petrochemicals, SK Global Chemicals and LG Chem.
