China’s Fushun Petrochemical expects its 92,000 tonne/year Acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at Fushun city in Liaoning province to produce on-spec product by 3 July after restarting it on 1 July, a company source said on Monday.
The ACN plant was shut down on 21 June after the producer had reduced its operating rate from 95% to around 75% capacity for five days because of a technical issue, the source added.
The ACN plant was restarted on 6 June following a 20-day maintenance that started from 17 May, the source said.
The average operating rate of the ACN plant was at around 40% capacity because of the frequent disruptions and around 4,600 tonnes of ACN production was lost in June, the source said.
