Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co Inc (MGC) is on track to shut its 40,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Niigata by 28 September for a planned maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
The plant is expected to be offline for 50 days until mid-November, the source added.
Other Japanese producers include Mitsubishi Rayon (MRC), Asahi Kasei, Kuraray, Mitsui Chemical and Sumitomo.
