Data Architecture

Data Architecture is a framework for how IT infrastructure supports the data strategy of our organization. It is in charge of identifying the data needs of the enterprise, designing and maintaining the master blueprints to meet those needs.

In summary, it enables consistent data standardization and integration across the enterprise and bridges the gap between business strategy and technology execution.

The Data Architecture team is made up of Data Architects and Data Custodians. The team works together to create and maintain organizational knowledge about data and the system through which it moves.

Data Architect

The information/data architect strengthens the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information that will need to be available and shared consistently through the identification, definition and analysis of how information assets aid strategies and business outcomes.

The Information/data architect is responsible for discovering the data and analytics requirements for information for all uses.

  3. To respond to disruptive forces and to move toward desired business outcomes.

  4. Ensure Data Quality and Metadata Management.

Data Custodians

Data Custodians are responsible for the safe custody, transport, storage of the data and implementation of business rules.

The Data Custodian is primarily responsible for managing the metadata about the information assets of the organization, to promote standardization and to guarantee the quality of the data in collaboration with the Data Stewards.

H/She works  closely with the data steward to identify data quality root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation plans. Often providing direct assistance with the diagnostic steps of the data governance processes that require more technical sophistication than data stewards have.
