Business Term Definition
Alphanumeric character string for grouping materials by combining different characteristics. It is used for analyses and price determination.
Material Product Hierarchy codes are levels of re groupment designed in SAP to maintain a logical link between material codes which have similarities. All together, they are named "the material hierarchy". They are designed to organize a hierarchization of those regroupment levels. The typical hierarchy is One Character < Two Characters < etc. The definitions of each level are relatively free, and each SAP design has made its choices (PF1 and WP1 are organized differently). Is not possible to bypass some level.
