Stock Valuation
- (Standard) Stock Value - Calculated based on Stock Quantity multiplied by Unit price (Standard or Moving Average, based on Material/Plant definition)
- Stock Value with integration rate - (Standard) Stock Value multiplied by "company integration rate" coefficient (typically 0%, 25%, 50% or 75%) referring to the share of stock which belongs to Solvay Group.
- Integrated Margin Stock Value - Accounting/Financial figure based on the "Model S" merged with the Inventory model
Valuation on Batch Level
Valuation of stock is typically done on Material/Plant level, Batch-level data were not valuated. Value has been exploded by Batch quantities to enable e.g. SMOG reporting.
In Transit
Inclusion of daily "in transit" figures (values and quantities) based on Finance/Accounting program:
SAP Standard process doesn't fully enable to track stock in transit (when material is issued from one plant, but not yet received to another plant)
To provide visibility on such stock, a specific program was developed to track it and send data every day to BW, where it is added to the "standard" Stock in plants.
There are 3 types of "In-Transit" evaluated by Finance
- Intercompanies Inbounds : stocks between 2 Solvay plants (replenishment, stock transfers), stock has left Plant 1 and has not yet arrived in Plant 2.
External Inbounds : inbound flows coming from external suppliers : purchases made with incoterm FCA or Ex-works, and Solvay has to organize the transport from the supplier plant. We consider that the stock belongs to Solvay as soon as the carrier loaded it ==> these flows are identified by a tick that Supply Chain teams have to update somewhere in the Purchase order to indicate that the goods left the supplier plant.
Outbounds : stocks shipped and invoiced that are restored in our financial books because the transfer of property did not happen yet.
