China-based acrylonitrile (ACN) producer, Anqing Petrochemical, plans to shut its 80,000 tonne/year line at Anqing in Anhui province for maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.
“The maintenance starting in January 2015, will last for about 20 days, resulting in a loss of about 5,000 tonnes of ACN,” the source added.
Meanwhile, its downstream acrylic fibre (AF) plant, with a capacity of 54,000 tonne/year, may continue to run at full tilt, the source said.
Additionally, Shanghai Secco, another major ACN producer, also plans to shut down its plant for a month in the early 2015.
